According to the report from the Tribune, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State and the deputy Leader of the Party in Ijesaland, Chief Dele Faseru criticized the executive committee for their inaction and complacency, implying that they have allowed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to weaken.

He argued that Nyesom Wike should have been removed from the party long ago, as his influence extends even to members of the rival All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

He urged the PDP to take decisive action by removing Wike and acknowledging the consequences of such a decision, rather than treating him as if he were invulnerable or divine.

He said, "That is why I am challenging the executive committee and all the others. They are behaving as if PDP is dead. They should have removed Wike long ago. Right now, he has all the members of the APC in Rivers State in his pocket, calling the shots and the PDP is looking at him as if he is a god. I’m challenging them to wake up and make sure that Wike is removed from the party and see what would come out of it."
