On 5th July, 2024 the Nigerian Senator representing Edo State North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole while briefing the journalists after a meeting with the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, revealed that he supported Godwin Obeseki to become the Governor of Edo State and so he had people who still have affection for him because the good people of the State would not forget in the hurry what he did when he was the Governor of the State.
According to TheCable, the Nigerian Senator representing Edo State North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole said "The PDP legacy group complained that the man they gave their master bedroom to has completely chased them out of the building, and now they’re under the rain, and as we speak, they are still trying to settle. For those who couldn’t find accommodation, we picked them one by one, and don’t forget that those on Osadebe Avenue were my own creation in the sense that I supported Obeseki to become governor, and so I have people who still have affection for me. Edo people won’t forget in the hurry what I did when I was governor and those of them who didn’t quite readily appreciate it now compare the past with the present."
It was learned that the former Governor of Edo State and also the former National Chairman of the APC, Senator Adams Oshiomhole led the Gubernatorial Candidate from the All Progressive Congress (APC) of the upcoming Governorship Election in Edo State, Monday Okpebholo and the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate from the APC, Honorable Dennis Idahosa to meet with the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
