Finidi George set for new role after failed Super Eagles stint

opera.com 3 days ago

Just weeks after resigning as Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George is reportedly being considered for the top job at Rivers United. The NPFL side is seeking a new head coach after sacking Stanley Eguma, and Finidi George has emerged as a strong candidate.

According to The Nation, Rivers United is impressed by Finidi George's previous success, which includes leading Enyimba to a league title. The club believes he has the expertise to revitalize the team after a disappointing 8th-place finish last season.

Finidi George stepped down as Super Eagles coach earlier this month after the NFF appointed a foreign technical adviser, offering him an assistant coach role. Unwilling to accept the demotion, he resigned from the national team.

If appointed, Finidi George will be tasked with guiding Rivers United back to the top of the NPFL. His experience and achievements make him a strong contender for the position, and the club hopes he can bring success to the team.
