According to Vanguard, The use of religious symbolism by secular Nigerian musicians in their music videos has sparked controversy, with some faith groups claiming it offends their sensibilities. Recently, Ahmed Ololade (Asake) faced criticism for allegedly disrespecting Christianity in his video "Only Me." Similarly, Davido and Olori received backlash last year for their video "Jaye Lo," which was perceived as insensitive to Islam.

Industry professionals and attendees at the "Peace Is Possible 3.0" musical concert in Abuja shared their views on the issue. Cecilia Okorooma, a gospel singer, blamed Church authorities for allowing secular activities in worship centers. Dr. Jude Nnam, a liturgical music writer, found it wrong for secular musicians to use religious scenes, considering it an insult to Christianity.

Lady Onyeka Onwenu, a veteran broadcaster, declined to comment. Sheikh Muhammad Nuru Khalid suggested that secular musicians should use religious backgrounds only when promoting peace, unity, and harmony. Helen Habila Zakaria, a gospel and secular artist, believed that music should draw crowds, regardless of the content.

Joseph Ekandem, an ecclesiastical music advocate, called on Church authorities to moderate such activities to avoid disrespecting the faith. Rev. Sr. Mary-Claire Nse saw it as promotion of Christianity, while Ambassador Prof. Martin Uhomoibhi found it desecrating and insensitive. Ijeoma Osamor, a TV presenter, emphasized the sentimental nature of religion and urged artists to avoid triggering violence.
