Emmanuel Frank-Fubara has been invited by the governor's ally, the Rivers State Assembly, to be screened and confirmed as a commissioner-nominee. On Sunday, Dr. G. M. Gillis-West, the Clerk of the factional Assembly, released a statement announcing this development.

According to the Daily Post, The statement states that original and photocopies of Frank-Fubara's credentials, along with twelve sets of his Curriculum Vitae, are anticipated to be presented before the Assembly.

The Oko-Jumbo factional Assembly will be screening commissioner-nominees for Governor Fubara's cabinet for the third time with this activity. Since last year, the Rivers State House of Assembly has been polarized due to a conflict between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. Fubara faced an impeachment attempt in October due to the rift, but he managed to survive.

A verdict by the Rivers State High Court that prevented lawmakers who supported Wade from carrying out their legislative duties was recently overturned by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The MPs, under the leadership of Martin Amaewhule, had already been declared ineligible by the High Court for their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. The Court of Appeal, however, overturned this ruling on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction.
