According to the report, he was picked up after the company (names withheld) found out that some of its items were missing, as the company believed that being the security guard, he ought to know how those items got missing.

He was arrested along with three other persons and after two days in detention, he was brought before the court on June 23 alongside the others.

After pleading not guilty to the charge, he was granted bail but due to his inability to meet the bail conditions, he was remanded in prison custody.

The foundation got to know about his plight during its advocacy visit to the prison and after hearing from him, one of the lawyers took up his matter and represented him in court.

However, on July 1, the foundation was able to secure the man's bail and he was reunited with his family after spending one week in prison custody. The case was also adjourned to July 17, 2024.
