Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, has given his take on the democratic system of government operated in Nigeria.

In the course of the June 12 Democracy Day celebration, Obi made reference to the malpractices that are practiced during elections and cited the need for them to be addressed with immediate effect.

However, during an interview with Arise News, the Labour Party flagbearer, Peter Obi, recalled how a former president, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, admitted that the process that brought him to power was faulty and was bent on changing the process.

According to the video, "I recall the late president Yar'Adua, who admitted that the process that brought him to office was faulty and he was bent on changing it, and he put up the right steps in doing that, which was followed up by Jonathan.".
