Fuel hits N950 per litre in Ondo

The price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as fuel has hit an all-high level of N950 per litre in Akure and environs.

Many petrol stations in Akure and environs observed by our correspondent do not have products to dispense.

The hike in price of fuel led to increase of transportation fare by 50 percent.

Chairman of IPMAN, Ore depot, Shiba Amoo, assured that fuel would soon be available in Akure, the state capital.

JUST IN: Court reverses suspension of pro-Fubara Rep

The Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has reversed the suspension placed on Awaji-Inombek Abiante, a member of the House of Representatives loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his ward.

The PDP in Ngor, Ward 1 in Andoni Local Government Area, had suspended Abiante, the lawmaker, accusing him of creating faction in the party.

The resolution suspending Abiante was signed by the PDP Caretaker Committee Ward Chairman in Andoni LGA, Dike Bara and CTC Ward Secretary, Dokubo Jackson, and 12 other executive members.

But the court on Friday, made orders of interim injunction voiding his suspension following a suit he filed challenging the punitive measure.

Plateau IDPs will soon return home to resume farming, says resettlement task force

The Plateau government, says internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state will soon return to their ancestral homes to commence farming.

John Sura, secretary of the task force on the resettlement of IDPs in Plateau, spoke on Friday after conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the affected communities in Bassa LGA.

Sura said Caleb Mutfwang, governor of Plateau, is committed to ensuring that all displaced persons are resettled in their ancestral homes.

He said the resettlement is part of the governor’s efforts to address the hunger crisis caused by the massive displacement of farmers in the state.

Obaseki to spend N1bn monthly to feed vulnerable Christians

Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, said he earmarked nothing less than N1bn naira monthly to feed vulnerable Christians in the state in the next three months.

This is as he said a similar programme that has been mapped out for people in the Muslim faith in the state.

Obaseki disclosed this during the official flag-off of phase one of the Edo State Food Support Programme.

The Governor, who said he was worried by the rising number of people who cannot afford a meal in a day in the state, said he had to call Christian leaders in the state on how best to address the alarming situation.
