According to the report from the Punch, the governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara pointed out the double standard in how situations involving him or his associates are handled compared to incidents linked to other parties.
He argued that if he was connected to an event, the reaction would be swift, with arrests, press conferences, and public statements.
He noted that there has been little to no official response or updates on the situation. Despite the lack of information, he expressed gratitude that the truth cannot be concealed indefinitely.
He emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency, regardless of political affiliations, while also acknowledging the power of divine intervention in bringing hidden matters to light.
Siminalayi Fubara said this while reacting to the crisis in Rivers State.
He said, "You know, if it was a situation that (Governor) Fubara is involved in anything, or links Fubara’s associates, by now, Nigeria would have been hot. There would have been arrests, there would have been statements, there would have been counter this or that. There would have been press conferences. But, because it is from the other side, nothing is heard yet. But glory to God, they couldn’t hide it forever, even if I have not been hearing anything."
