According to The Sun, The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the N23 billion expenditure on the building of Radisson Hotel by the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki. The party alleges that the contract was initially awarded for N19.6 billion but has ballooned to N23 billion with additional sub-contracts awarded to different companies.

The APC also raised questions about the ownership of the hotel and the modular refinery in Ologbo, calling for the EFCC to investigate the true ownership of both projects. The party alleges that the governor's company, Afrinvest, and the law firm of Banwo and Ighodalo, owned by the PDP governorship candidate, have benefited from the projects.

The APC chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, also raised the alarm about the governor's "paperless governance" initiative, alleging that it is a ploy to delete sensitive information that might implicate him.

In response, the Commissioner for Orientation and Communication, Mr Chris Nehikhare, dismissed the APC's claims as "spurious and frivolous" and urged the party to focus on articulating its plans for Edo State instead of making allegations.
