A senior All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, brought attention to the fact that the Court of Appeal failed to deal with the core issue of Amaewhule's group's expulsion from Congress due to their defect from the PDP to the APC.
He wondered why the legislators were so elated, considering they knew their actions could have legal consequences.
A state of emergency was even mentioned as an option, but he urged the law-abiding citizens of Rivers State to keep their cool and reject the former politicians' efforts to cause strife.
According to The Sun, he said, "The Court of Appeal didn’t entertain the major subject matter of Amaewhule and his group defecting from PDP to APC, which caused them to cease as lawmakers."
"So, what are they celebrating when they are aware that by defecting from the PDP to the APC they have ceased to be lawmakers?"
"I will only counsel the law-abiding citizens of Rivers State to be calm and not give in to the plot of these ex-lawmakers to ignite anarchy in the state to achieve their sinister aim of declaration of State of emergency in the state."
