In a video shared by TVC, Ngelale highlighted a past incident where a former Nigerian president demolished a media station with bulldozers for publishing content that did not align with his views. He pointed out that President Tinubu's administration is instead pursuing a legal approach by suing the newspaper, demonstrating a commitment to the rule of law.

He explained that a previous president used extreme measures against a media outlet that provided information or opinions contrary to his own views, actions which were not in line with principles of media freedom or freedom of expression. Ngelale stated that the Minister of Information's current legal approach is consistent with the rule of law and respects media freedom. ( Photo credit : The Punch Newspaper Verified Facebook Page )

During an interview on TVC News, he remarked, "A sitting president took tractors and bulldozers and literally knocked down a media station that was giving information or opinion in a way that was not in line with that president's own view. Those are draconian steps that would be taken by a government that is not abiding by the principles of media freedom or freedom of expression. I think what the Minister of Information has described is a process that is very much in line with the rule of law"
