The President General of the Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwanyanwu, has reaffirmed the organization's support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

According to the report by The Sun Newspaper, Iwanyanwu stressed the Southeast's decision not to join protests in other parts of Nigeria, saying that it demonstrates Ndigbo's commitment to stability and investment in the country's unity.

Iwanyanwu stressed the important investments made by the Igbo in various regions and their desire to see President Tinubu succeed.

The Ohanaeze leader expressed hope that the government would reciprocate by addressing the marginalization of the Igbo, including the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whose continued detention has caused tension in the Southeast.

The Ohanaeze leader also referenced a communique from the Southern and Middle Belt leaders' forum, which sympathized with the Igbo and called for Kanu's release.

Iwanyanwu expressed concern over post-election threats against the Igbo, aiming to hinder their success in business and politics.

He said that after Peter Obi of the Labour Party won the 2023 presidential election in Lagos, Abuja and other states, some people held a meeting and said that they would frustrate Igbos and make sure that they fail in business and politics.

Speaking during the exclusive interview with The Sun, he said, "After the 2023 general election, we experienced the worst situation after Peter Obi won in Lagos, Abuja and some other states; a group of people held a meeting and boasted that they will cripple Igbos and make sure they don't succeed in business and politics."
