Dunamis testifier, Anyim Vera arrested by Police

Anyim Vera, Dunamis International Gospel Center, DIGC member who went viral after she was accused of lying during a testimony has been arrested by the Police.

Vera was reportedly detained by the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday, over a breach of etiquette.

Recall that Vera’s story had gone viral after the Senior Pastor of the church, Dr Paul Enenche obstructed her testimony at the Church Headquarters.

Enenche, who wondered how a supposed law graduate would speak incorrect English, asked some questions for clarification.

Tinubu to return Wednesday, says presidency

The presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu and his aides will return to Nigeria from Europe on Wednesday.

The special adviser on information and strategy to the president, Bayo Onanuga, announced in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” Onanuga wrote.

On April 22, Tinubu left Abuja, the country’s capital, for the Netherlands on an official visit.

CBN directs banks to suspend charges on deposits till September

The Central Bank of Nigeria, has directed banks to stop charges on cash deposits until September 30, 2024.

The apex bank disclosed this in a circular dated May 6, 2024, signed by its Director of Banking Supervision, Adetona Adedeji.

Customers of some of the Deposit Money Banks, raised concerns that the banks have begun collection of processing fees for cash deposits as of May 1.

‘It’s another burden on Nigerians,’ NLC rejects cybersecurity levy

The Nigeria Labour Congress, has rejected the newly introduced cybersecurity levy by the Central Bank of Nigeria, demanding its immediate withdrawal.

In a statement by its President, Joe Ajaero, the NLC lamented that the levy is another anti-people policy of the government amid excruciating economic hardship.

The statement read, “The Nigeria Labour Congress, vehemently condemns the recent directive by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to levy a 0.5 per cent ‘Cybersecurity Levy’ on electronic transfers.

“This levy, to be implemented by deduction at the transaction origination, is yet another burden on the shoulders of hardworking Nigerians.
