Hours after the interview, Biola shared on Instagram that a friend of Adewodun had informed her that Adewodun had taken her own life. The actress suggested that the criticisms Adewodun received after her confession contributed to this tragic event.
However, on Thursday, Biola revealed in a statement on social media that Adewodun had faked her death. The statement read: “The case of Miss Adenike, while tragic, is a learning curve for us. We offered her therapy, but she panicked and faked her death in a very devilish and ungodly manner.
“After the fake death news, we tried to locate her house to express our condolences, but it was difficult. Both the presenter and producer, Abiola Adebayo, were emotionally and mentally disturbed for days. During our mourning, we noticed discrepancies in her so-called ‘sister’s’ and friend’s accounts. We sent the Director of the show on a fact-finding mission, who discovered from the hospital that she hadn’t died.
“Our attorney filed a petition to the police, who promptly investigated and arrested both Nike and her friend. Nike admitted she faked her death, hoping Biola would remove the interview video. The police asked if she had ever requested the video's removal, and she said no.”
