Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, has finally broken his silence on the mistake that cost Nigeria a spot in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, according to All Nigeria Soccer. In an interview with OmaSports TV, Okoye reflected on the error that led to Tunisia's goal and Nigeria's eventual exit from the tournament.

Okoye acknowledged that the mistake was a difficult moment for him but emphasized that mistakes are an inherent part of the game. He cited the example of Manuel Neuer, one of the world's top goalkeepers, who also makes errors. Okoye expressed regret over letting his teammates, family, and country down but emphasized that he has learned from the experience and moved on.

On the club front, Okoye has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, the current Serie A champions. While he acknowledged the rumors, he expressed his commitment to Udinese, his current club, and looked forward to the upcoming season. Okoye praised Serie A as a "top championship" and rated it as the second-best league in Europe, after the Premier League.
