According to Metro, Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams has informed his inner circle that he wishes to avoid speculation about his future, emphasizing his tendency to get easily distracted and his need to maintain focus on Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign.

Williams had an impressive season with Athletic last year, tallying five goals and 11 assists in La Liga. His standout performances have continued into the European Championship, where he has emerged as one of Spain’s top players.

Amidst heightened interest from top clubs like Barcelona, Arsenal, and reportedly Chelsea, Williams remains steadfast in blocking out external noise ahead of Spain’s crucial quarter-final against Germany.

"My brother Inaki Williams is crucial to me," he told AS. "He's been through similar situations and advised me not to pay attention to outside offers or stories. I easily lose focus, preferring to concentrate on one goal at a time."

Williams, who has a €55 million release clause, expressed excitement about Athletic's potential home Europa League final but declined to commit to any future plans beyond the Euros.

"I'm focused on the Euros right now," he stated. "Next year is uncertain, and I'm open to whatever comes my way."

Driven by his ambition to excel in his position, Williams acknowledged that success in the Euros could elevate his recognition and change his life significantly.

"I may start being recognized in unexpected places," he mused. "Life changes, and playing in European competitions has given me the chance to fulfill my dreams and strive to be among the best."

Williams concluded by affirming his dedication to continuing his current trajectory, aiming to build on his recent successes in the coming seasons.
