The Sultan of Sokoto proclaimed the new Islamic year, 1446 AH, to begin on July 7, 2024, and the Deputy Senate President sent his congratulations to Muslims and all Nigerians on this momentous occasion. Jibrin, as reported by Daily Trust, emphasised the importance of adhering to the Islamic principles of kindness, tolerance, and mutual respect. He emphasised that the National Assembly is committed to enacting legislation that will assist in resolving Nigeria's issues.

With the continued support of President Tinubu, Jibrin expressed optimism that Nigeria will achieve growth and prosperity for everyone. He urged Nigerians to do the same. In honour of the new Islamic year, 1446 AH, he urged his listeners to consider the Hijra's impact on history as well as the teachings and example set by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The promised land, where everything would function for everyone, is ensured with our support in parliament and the understanding of Nigerians, Insha Allah. The federal government is planning to sue the Daily Trust newspaper over an article about the Samoa pact, while the governor of Kebbi state has declared Monday a public holiday to celebrate the new Islamic calendar year.
