According to Daily Post, Justice Osai Ahiakwo, a legal expert, has expressed disappointment with the Appeal Court's decision to restore the 25 sacked lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly to their seats. Ahiakwo argued that the ruling does not legitimize the lawmakers' return to office or empower them to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Governor. He believes the situation is unfortunate and can only be resolved by the Supreme Court.

Ahiakwo criticized the Appeal Court for introducing new legal terminology and misinterpreting the Constitution. He emphasized the importance of jurisdiction and argued that the Court of Appeal erred in relying on Section 272 of the Constitution instead of Section 251, which confer original jurisdiction on the Federal High Court.

The legal expert urged the respondents to approach the Supreme Court to correct the error, emphasizing the need for a correct interpretation of the Constitution to set a good precedent. His views align with the National Democratic Coalition's (NDC) dissatisfaction with the Appeal Court judgment.
