During the flag-off ceremony of the Mbushi Terminal, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike addressed criticism from Senator Ireti Kingibe, who had recently spoken negatively about healthcare in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Wike mentioned hearing Kingibe's remarks on Arise TV and expressed disappointment that a National Assembly member would make such comments.
He stressed that it is better to admit a lack of knowledge than to make uninformed statements. Wike noted that the current administration, including himself and the Minister of Defense, has only been in office for 10 to 11 months. Despite the short tenure, they have made significant progress and received praise for their work.
Challenging Kingibe's criticism, Wike questioned her contributions as a senator, specifically regarding the construction of hospitals in the FCT. He reiterated that it is better to seek education on a matter rather than spreading misinformation.
Wike expressed pride in the achievements of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, stating that they have performed well despite their limited time in office.
Wike also addressed those who might be unhappy with the praise his administration has received. He suggested that if their achievements cause discomfort to some, those individuals should deal with their emotions rather than undermine the administration's progress.
Wike highlighted the tangible improvements made under President Tinubu's leadership and stressed the importance of recognizing and celebrating these successes.
In his statement, "With all due respect, what you don't, you don't know, what you know; you know. And the good thing to tell the people that look, I don't know this... The honorable minister of defence and my self has not been in the office for up to 10 to 11months, and to the glory of God the person is angry that they are praising us.
If you angry, go and hang yourself and if we have done well, we have done well. And I am proud to say that in this Mr President administration, we have done well".
