Tinubu Tackling ‘Bulk’ Of Nigeria’s Challenges – Omo-Agege

The immediate past deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege, has said that President Bola Tinubu has tackled the ‘bulk’ of Nigeria’s challenges.

He made this statement over the weekend while briefing newsmen in Effurun, Delta State.

He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to turn around the current economic situation in Nigeria, urging Nigerians to continue to support him.

Omo-Agege, who was the 2023 Delta All Progressive Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, appealed for patience, noting that many were aware that things would become worse before getting better.

“My message to Nigerians is that they should continue to pray for the President. They should continue to support the President. He means well to our people.

‘You Don’t Exist, I Can De-recognize You’ – Fubara Blasts Rivers Lawmakers

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State on Monday lashed out at members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, saying they do not exist.

Fubara said the Peace Accord he signed with his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Terrritory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, was political, hence he can derecognize them as lawmakers.

He spoke while addressing a delegation of political and traditional leaders from Bayelsa State who visited him at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital, to seek an end to the political crisis in Rivers State and an improved relationship between both states.

Edo Assembly: My suspension cannot stand – Okugbe

The lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo II (PDP), Hon Donald Okogbe, has condemned his suspension with two other lawmakers in Edo Assembly.

Okogbe an ally to the former deputy governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, was accused by the Edo Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Blessing Agbebaku Agbebaku, of being influenced by external forces to cause chaos and remove the leadership of the house.

Okogbe along with Hon Bright Iyamu (Orihonmwon South) (PDP) and Hon Adeh Isibor, Esan North East I (APC) were also accused of bringing native doctors into the house at midnight on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 to make some incantations and dropped charms in the assembly complex.

Army, Police sack Enugu community over alleged killing of police officers

Crisis is rocking Iggah community in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Though the cause of the crisis is not yet clear, a trending video from the community showed people’s property, including houses and shops, being burnt.

An unconfirmed report said three persons were killed, including a police officer.

A voice narrating the incident in the video did not say the cause of the crisis but accused the military and the police of setting the property, including houses on fire.
