Suspected Arrested In Edo State

In a major breakthrough, the Edo State Police Command has arrested the suspected killer of Uwaila Omozuwa, the University of Benin undergraduate who was raped and murdered in a church earlier this year.

According to the police, the suspect, identified as Osarodion Obayuwana, was arrested after months of investigation and thorough surveillance. He was apprehended in his hideout in Benin City, the state capital.

The Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Johnson Kokumo, while addressing journalists, revealed that the suspect confessed to the crime and provided detailed information on how he carried out the heinous act.

The news of Uwaila's brutal rape and murder had sparked outrage and widespread condemnation, with many calling for justice for the 22-year-old victim. She was a final year student of microbiology at the University of Benin and was killed inside a church where she had gone to study.
