The construction of a new government house and lodge for Anambra State is currently underway under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo. The project, located in the Ekwueme Square axis of Awka, aims to provide a modern and befitting complex for the state government.

Previously, the site was vulnerable to gully erosion and had been taken over by hoodlums and land grabbers. However, the Soludo administration has transformed the area into a modern and environmentally friendly complex.

Upon completion, the new government house and lodge will be the greenest and most environmentally friendly in Nigeria. The project is part of Governor Soludo's efforts to develop and transform Awka into a modern capital city.

Despite being made the capital of Anambra State in 1991, Awka has struggled to develop, with many public institutions remaining in Enugu, the former capital of the old Anambra State. However, successive governments have worked to develop Awka, with the Soludo administration being the latest to invest in the city's infrastructure.

The construction of the new government house and lodge is a significant project for the state, and it is expected to be completed soon. The project is part of Governor Soludo's efforts to develop and transform Anambra State into a modern and prosperous region.

The new complex will provide a modern and efficient workspace for government officials, as well as a suitable residence for the governor. The project is expected to boost the economic growth and development of the state, and cement Anambra's position as a leading state in Nigeria.
