Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has accused present and former government officials of conspiring to destabilize Kenya. Speaking at a women empowerment event in Tana River County, Duale alleged that these officials, some of whom he had worked with, were orchestrating chaos under the guise of peaceful protests.

Duale specifically pointed fingers at individuals within both President William Ruto's and former President Uhuru Kenyatta's administrations, claiming they were behind efforts to incite violence during recent demonstrations led by Generation Z. He warned of plans to revive the notorious Mungiki sect to commit acts of looting and destruction across the country.

"We appreciate our youth for raising important concerns about the state of affairs," Duale acknowledged, referencing the anti-Finance Bill protests. "But there are colleagues, some from past administrations and some current, who are plotting to sow chaos by reintroducing Mungiki."

Emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, Duale affirmed the Kenya Defence Forces' commitment to support the National Police Service in safeguarding critical infrastructure and citizens' lives. He cautioned politicians against making inflammatory statements that could exacerbate the unrest, urging protesters to remain vigilant against criminal elements exploiting their grievances.

Drawing parallels to Sudan's descent into civil war following similar protests, Duale underscored the need to prevent Kenya from sliding into anarchy. He reiterated his duty as Defence CS to prevent any resurgence of Mungiki and vowed to uphold peace and stability at all costs.

As these revelations unfold, questions arise about the true motives behind the recent surge in violence during demonstrations. Stay informed as the government's response and public reaction continue to unfold amidst growing concerns over Kenya's stability and security.
