According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, July 6, 2024, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stern warning to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Ayodele advised Kanu to beg the Nigerian government for his freedom, cautioning that failure to do so would result in his death in detention.

The advice came during the launch of Primate Ayodele’s 30th “Warning to the Nations” at his church in Lagos on Saturday.

Ayodele’s remarks come at a critical time, as Southeast governors and senators are planning to meet President Bola Tinubu to seek a political solution to Kanu’s prolonged detention.

Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) on the orders of the Nigerian government since June 2021, was re-arrested in Kenya and forcibly repatriated to Nigeria.

Despite courts granting him bail, the Nigerian government has repeatedly refused to release him.

In his address, Primate Ayodele emphasized the urgency for Kanu to seek clemency.

“Nigeria will break but not through Nnamdi Kanu or Sunday Igboho,” Ayodele stated.

“Kanu should beg the government before he is released or else he will die in jail. He should hands off because he lacks the capacity to carry the agitation. The country will break without a bloodbath; it will be a natural cause.”

He further elaborated on the spiritual dimension of the country’s challenges, suggesting that the nation's foundational spirits are displeased.

“Prayer and fasting will not stop it because the spirit of existence is tired. The spirit of our forefathers like Tafawa Balewa is not happy. Nigeria’s breakup will start from the North,” he asserted.
