The panel of the UEFA Champions League has finally unveiled the official team of the week for the second-leg of the quarter-final ties. The players on each position were voted in by the fans due to their brilliant displays in this match-week.
In my view, The eleven players that made the official team of the week fully deserves it due to their impressive performances for their respective clubs.
Here is the official UEFA Champions League team of the week;
Goalkeeper;
The Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin who recorded numerous saves during their penalty shoot-out victory over Manchester City made the list.
Center backs;
The duo of Eric Dier and Nacho Fernandez who were both instrumental for their respective clubs were paired together in the center-back position.
Full backs;
The duo of Joshua Kimmich and Ian Maatsen who both scored a goal each for their respective teams were named in the full-backs position.
Central Midfielders;
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer who recorded two goals during their dominant victory over Atletico Madrid made the list and was paired alongside teammate’s Julian Brandt in the central-midfield position.
Wide Midfielders;
The PSG winger Ousmane Dembele who recorded one goal and one assist during their 4 - 1 win over Barcelona was named in the left-midfield position while fellow PSG teammate Bran Barcola was named as right midfielder.
Attackers;
The Borussia Dortmund striker Nico Fullkrug who recorded one goal and one assist during their second-leg match against Atletico Madrid made the list and was paired alongside PSG’s Kylian Mbappe who recorded two goals in attack.
