On 6th July, 2024 the Gubernatorial Candidate from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of the upcoming Governorship Election in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo while reacting to the nullification of the Edo State Gubernatorial Primary Election of the PDP which produced him as the Candidate of the party in the upcoming Governorship Election by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, revealed that the upcoming election was not going to be easy, it was going to be very difficult, and they were already seeing the signs.
According to Punch Newspaper, the Gubernatorial Candidate from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of the upcoming Governorship Election in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo said "It is not going to be easy. It is going to be very difficult. We are already seeing the signs. It is going to be a difficult election; not on the issues, but on the distractions. But sometimes these distractions are more difficult to deal with than issues. But I know we have leaders who are more than capable to set the ball rolling and to lift us higher than some others. So, I am truly grateful. On behalf, of my deputy and myself, what I want to say is this- we will give this everything we have. We will give it our 150 percent commitment. We will ensure that we will make this our party extremely proud to have presented us as their candidates."
On the other hand, the chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Edo State Governorship Campaign Council and also the Governor of Adamawa State, Honorable Ahmadu Fintiri said that there was a little setback in their preparation for the upcoming Governorship Election in Edo State, but God would see through through. He also added that the Gubernatorial Candidate from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo had a lot of credibility with him, and they could make him win the Edo State Governorship Election if they were serious because Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo had worked toward the progress and development of the State.
