Governor Siminalayi tells ex-governor Peter odili, Rivers Elders to work with him to save the state

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, alongside state elders, including former governor Peter Odili and ex-PDP chairman Uche Secondus, visited Ubima community to condole former governor Celestine Omehia on Saturday.

Expressing concern over efforts to "destroy" the state's soul, Fubara emphasized unity and determination to counter such threats.

During the condolence visit for Omehia's late mother, Fubara stressed the importance of standing against divisive politics and bitterness, urging all who care about Rivers State's progress to unite.

He cautioned against actions that hinder the state's advancement, emphasizing his commitment to govern based on truth and righteousness.

Fubara thanked the elders for their support and reminded them that bitterness would only impede the state's development.

According to Punch, he reiterated the need for collective effort to propel Rivers State to greater heights, dismissing any notion of governing from a position of weakness.

In his plea for unity and resilience, Fubara condemned political machinations detrimental to the state's well-being, urging a concerted effort to uphold its interests.

He emphasized that regardless of opposition, he would remain steadfast in leading with integrity and standing for what is right.
