According to reports on DAILY POST, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has singled out five players from his team for praise following their 2-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland secured the victory for the reigning champions, allowing them to maintain pace with league leaders Arsenal.

Despite their success, City still have a game in hand over the Gunners, keeping their title hopes alive.

Speaking about his team's performance at the Forest Ground, Guardiola highlighted their defensive prowess, particularly emphasizing the contributions of Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, and Josko Gvardiol in guarding the box effectively.

Guardiola also commended the impact of Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic, noting that their presence in the midfield during the last half-hour of the match allowed City to exert more control and dominance over the game.

“We defended the box really good. Especially with Manuel [Akanji], Nathan [Ake] and Josko [Gvardiol]," Guardiola remarked.

"Then in the last half-hour, when Bernardo came inside with Kova, we controlled the game more."
