John Terry criticized the BBC, calling it 'disgraceful' for a caption that mocked Cristiano Ronaldo for missing his penalty.

During extra-time in the Euro 2024 match, Ronaldo failed to convert a penalty that would have advanced Portugal to the quarter-finals.

Portugal faced Slovenia, the lowest-ranked team still in the competition, and the match went to penalties. Portugal's goalkeeper, Diogo Costa, showcased his skills by saving Slovenia's first three attempts. Cristiano Ronaldo redeemed himself by successfully converting his penalty. Ultimately, Bernardo Silva scored the decisive penalty, ensuring Portugal's place in the quarter-finals against France in Hamburg on Friday.

Terry shared an image on Instagram featuring a BBC caption that stated "Misstiano Penaldo".

He added a note saying, "BBC, this is shameful."

Terry and Ronaldo have had a long-standing rivalry, dating back to their time at Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as during their international careers.

However, the former England centre-back is all too familiar with the heartache of missing a penalty.

During the 2008 Champions League final against Manchester United, he experienced this agony firsthand when he slipped and missed his shot in the decisive shootout.
