Speaker Tajudeen Abbas says 10th House of Rep has surpassed previous assemblies since 1999

On Tuesday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, proudly announced that the 10th House has achieved unprecedented levels of legislative productivity since Nigeria's return to democracy in 1999.

According to a report by Vanguard, this current assembly has introduced a remarkable total of 1,351 bills and passed 679 motions, setting a new standard for legislative activity compared to any previous assembly.

During its inaugural legislative session, the 10th House, under the leadership of Speaker Abbas and Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has made significant progress by passing 679 motions and advancing 89 draft bills.

This surge in legislative activity has motivated various ministries, departments, and agencies to actively carry out their responsibilities more effectively.

The 10th House, which was inaugurated on June 13, 2023, has quickly demonstrated its commitment to legislative excellence under the guidance of Speaker Abbas and Deputy Speaker Kalu.

In a statement delivered during the plenary session marking the start of the second legislative year, Speaker Abbas, speaking through his deputy, Hon.
