According to Metro, Rio Ferdinand took a swipe at Arsenal following Manchester United's narrow victory over Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

United had to rely on extra time and penalties to overcome their second-tier opponents, prompting Ferdinand to share his reaction to the game on his YouTube channel after the win.

During an interview with his fellow FIVE podcast co-host Joel Beya, an Arsenal supporter, Ferdinand couldn't resist teasing his friend for attempting to find positives in United's performance.

Beya, holding a cigar, jokingly criticized United's display as "shocking" and "poor," prompting Ferdinand to retort, "This is coming from an Arsenal supporter.

So it’s fine. Why you got the cigar out? Your season is smoked! (laughs). There’s games to be played, games in hand."

This banter between Ferdinand and Beya follows a previous incident earlier in the season when Ferdinand was mocked by Arsenal fans during a flight to Porto for his remarks about Bukayo Saka not being world-class.

Despite Ferdinand's assertion that Saka hadn't proven himself in crucial Champions League matches, Arsenal fans chanted "Saka's world class" during the flight.

Meanwhile, Arsenal currently lead the league with 74 points after a win against Wolves, but they could be overtaken by third-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Liverpool, in second place with the same number of points, also pose a threat, with Jurgen Klopp issuing a warning to both Arsenal and City after his team's victory over Fulham.

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold acknowledged the significance of Arsenal's win over Wolves, noting that he and his teammates watched the game.

He emphasized the importance of securing wins in their remaining matches, likening them to "five finals."
