The Generation Zs have attacked the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) to commemorate the 7th of July, a landmark day in Kenyan history.
Channel 7 News shared a video online showing hundreds, if not thousands, of Gen Zs marching around the city.
They peacefully marched through the Central Business District, armed with Kenyan flags and chanting freedom slogans.
This march comes at a time when young Kenyans have continued to put pressure on the Kenya Kwanza administration, led by President Ruto, to meet specific demands.
Today, the teenagers had promised to meet within Uhuru Park in Nairobi to pay their final respects to their fellow Generation Zs who had been ruthlessly murdered by police officers during past anti-government demonstrations.
Even though the Generation Zs have stated that they will just be convening to commemorate the fallen giants, there are concerns that the peaceful gathering will devolve into a major protest. As a result, the government has already sent police personnel to patrol parliament and the Statehouse in preparation for any potential disruption.
