Osun Court Sentences Five Men To Death For Killing Herdsman, In Osun State.

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ede, has reportedly sentenced five men to death by hanging for killing a herdsman who goes by the name Ibrahim Adamu.

According to Daily Post, the trial judge, Justice Kudirat Akano, made it known that the five men, Ibrahim Issac, Lateef Bello, AbdulRamon Soliu, Bello Ibrahim, and Abudu Mumini Jolaanobi Saheed, abducted and eventually murdered Mr. Ibrahim Adamu, a cow seller at Owode Ede, in Osun State.

They reportedly Kidnapped Late Adamu and eventually took him to a secluded place in his Toyota Corolla car. He was later murdered, despite paying a ₦3 million ransom, after he identified one of the kidnappers.

Five of them were first arraigned before the court on 28th. October, 2021, for the offenses bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder. They pleaded not guilty to the four counts brought against them by the Osun State government.

While addressing the press, the defence counsel made it known that that the charges pressed against the defendants had not been proved beyond reasonable doubt by the prosecuting counsel.

On the other hand, Justice Akano, while delivering her judgement, found the five men guilty of all the charges brought against them and subsequently sentenced them to death by hanging.
