President Bola Tinubu has expressed optimism about the progress made in addressing insecurity in the North-West region, attributing the success to the relentless efforts of security forces. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the North-West Peace and Security Summit in Katsina, the President assured Nigerians that the achievements recorded so far are only the beginning of a comprehensive drive to secure the nation.

Tinubu acknowledged the effectiveness of military operations, such as Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Safe Haven, in targeting and neutralizing criminal elements like Boko Haram and bandits. He emphasized that enhanced border security and intelligence capabilities have led to the disruption and dismantling of criminal networks, resulting in the neutralization of high-profile figureheads.

The President dismissed claims that insecurity in the North-West is driven by sectional agendas, emphasizing that instability in any part of the country affects the entire nation. He reiterated that securing Nigeria has been a top priority for his administration since inception, over a year ago.

Tinubu expressed confidence that the strategies employed in the North-West are yielding results and pledged that efforts will continue until insurgents are completely dismantled. The summit, attended by notable figures including former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Sultan of Sokoto, Governor Dikko Radda, Minister of Defence Muhammad Badaru, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and other North-West governors, demonstrates the collective commitment to addressing insecurity in the region.

The President's assurance and the collective efforts of stakeholders aim to restore peace and stability to the North-West region, ensuring a safer Nigeria for all citizens.
