During an interview with Channels Television, former aide Laolu Akande criticized Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for his recent actions on social media. Akande asserted that Wike's behavior is inappropriate for a governor and suggested he should follow President Tinubu's example.
Akande specifically referenced a social media video in which Wike is seen dancing and wearing a winter jacket, which he deemed unsuitable for a governor.

He expressed concern that Wike's actions could harm both the government's and his own reputations. Emphasizing President Tinubu's dignified conduct in office, Akande advised Wike to adopt a more respectable demeanor.
He pointed out that, considering the current political climate, many would argue that after the President, Wike is one of the most influential figures.
However, he criticized Wike's behavior, mentioning his appearance on social media in a winter jacket and dancing in a manner he described as clownish. He added that Wike should be reminded to follow President Tinubu's example, noting that Tinubu never behaved in such a manner publicly.

During an interview on Channels Television, he remarked "If you look at the political dimensions, the political dispensation today, after the President, some will argue that Wike will be the most influential."
"But his behavior is becoming unbecoming. First of all, he goes on social media and wears this winter jacket. He's dancing like a clown, and you have his engagement of his, this broad with his own governor."
"Somebody should tell him that. Look at the trajectory of President Tinubu, whom you're serving. Did you ever find him behave in such a way that you're behaving publicly?"
