In a recent statement reported by Daily Trust, former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, has vowed to confront the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

This promise came in response to Wike's remarks at a recent event, where he challenged Sani to outline his contributions to democracy during his Senate tenure.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Sani expressed his anger over Wike’s comments. He accused Wike of deliberately positioning himself to speak last at events to avoid immediate rebuttals to his statements.

Sani emphasized the significance of his and others' efforts to end military dictatorship in Nigeria. He also recalled his time as a political prisoner in Port Harcourt Prison, questioning Wike's contributions during that period.

The former lawmaker pledged to respond to Wike at future events, now being aware of Wike's strategy of speaking last. “Wike is my good friend. I would have preferred to reply to him at an event rather than on the TV.

I have attended two events where he strategically placed himself at the end of the event and made sure nobody replied to him. But I believe that when an opportunity comes next, I am going to take him on.”

Sani further remarked, “Next time when we go for an event, since I know his formula, speaking last, closing the chapter and everybody should go home, it will never happen again. He will certainly get a reply,” indicating his determination to confront Wike directly in future public gatherings.
