Mathira Man Allegedly Stabs Wife To Death and Runs Away

In Mathira, Nyeri County, police are searching for a 33-year-old man accused of killing his wife.

The tragic event happened on Tuesday when the man reportedly lured his 26-year-old estranged wife to his rented house under the guise of reconciliation.

According to neighbors, the couple had separated some time ago but continued to meet occasionally due to their child, a one-year-and-six-month-old toddler.

The man allegedly persuaded his wife to visit his home, claiming he wanted to resolve their differences.

However, upon her arrival, he attacked her, stabbing her multiple times and slitting her throat. He also struck her on the head with a blunt object, which resulted in her immediate death.

After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene, leaving his wife’s body in a pool of blood inside the house.

Concerned neighbors, who had not heard from the woman for some time, decided to check on her. When they arrived, they found the door locked and decided to break in. To their horror, they discovered her lifeless body and immediately called the police.

Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, secured the area, and gathered evidence. The deceased's body was transported to a morgue in Karatina for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities are now focusing on tracking down the suspect, who is believed to be on the run. They have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

This incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. Family and friends have condemned the act, expressing their grief and calling for justice.
