Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State has called out President Bola Tinubu over some of his economic policies that affected Nigerian masses. According to PUNCH NEWS, Suswam who made this call in an interview with its correspondents argued that Nigeria's problems began during the tenure of Muhammadu Buhari. He claimed that the present state of the country is nothing to talk about because the poor masses are facing severe challenges.

Suswam argued that the economic policies engaged by the current administration clearly show that it is finding it difficult to solve Nigeria's problems. He stated that the removal of fuel subsidies, floating of the naira, and increase of interest rate have made the country hard for the poor masses. The former Governor of Benue State urged the President to take urgent steps in tackling the economic challenges being faced in the country.

Hear him, "The state of the nation, economically, is nothing to talk about, it’s unfortunate that the current (Tinubu) leadership does not have what it takes to change the economic fortunes of this country. All the economic policies that they’ve engaged in or they have taken indicate that they are finding it difficult to solve the economic problems of this country.

I give you some examples, you remove subsidy from day one, and you now float your currency, and increase the interest rate. Now the tariff for electricity has been increased. How does an average man survive under those kinds of heavy bad economic policies?"
