According to sources familiar with the ongoing negotiations, Mossad officials have assured mediators that the Israeli cabinet is likely to approve the ceasefire proposal currently under discussion.

According to a report by Times of Israel, The deal, which has been in the works for several weeks, involves the release of over 120 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza in exchange for a temporary truce and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops. The plan also includes the rehabilitation of the war-torn Gaza Strip and the repatriation of the remains of deceased captives.

While some far-right ministers, such as Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, have voiced opposition to the terms of the deal, the Mossad negotiators are reportedly confident that they will be outnumbered by Haredi and Likud ministers in the cabinet.

However, it remains unclear whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be willing to ignore the demands of his far-right coalition partners, as both Ben Gvir and Smotrich have threatened to collapse the government if the proposal is accepted.

The potential breakthrough in the hostage negotiations comes amid ongoing clashes in Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes and tank assaults have continued to target alleged militant strongholds, resulting in further casualties, including children.

With the death toll in Gaza nearing 38,000 and the humanitarian situation deteriorating, both Israel and Hamas are under increasing international pressure to reach a ceasefire agreement. The latest developments suggest that a long-stalled deal may finally be within reach.
