Abe's Surprising Revelation: The Unsettling Truth About Fubara's Candidacy

opera.com 2024/5/18

According to a report by Vanguard, former Rivers South-East Senator, Magnus Abe, has rejected the notion that Sir Siminialayi Fubara, the state's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, can be regarded as a political leader in the state.

Abe made this statement in a recent interview, citing Fubara's lack of political experience and achievements.

"Sir Siminialayi Fubara is a civil servant, not a politician. He has no political pedigree, no political experience, and no political achievements. He can't be regarded as a political leader in Rivers State," Abe said.

Abe, who was a former ally of Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, and a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defected to the PDP last year.

He has been critical of Fubara's candidacy, stating that the PDP's decision to field him as its governorship candidate was a mistake.

"Fubara's emergence as the PDP's candidate is a travesty of justice and a mockery of democracy.

He can't win the election, and even if he does, he won't be able to govern the state effectively," Abe added.

Abe's comments have sparked a heated debate in political circles in Rivers State, with some supporting his views and others dismissing them as mere political rhetoric.

The development has added to the already tense political atmosphere in the state, as the 2024 governorship election approaches.
