A 28-year-old man named Ufuoma Umurie has been arrested for the brutal murder of his own father, Rev. Isaac Umurie, who was a serving priest with the St. John's Anglican Church in Okpare-Olomu Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the reports, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, when Ufuoma Umurie allegedly butchered and killed his father, Rev. Isaac Umurie.
The suspect is also accused of chasing his mother with the same cutlass used to commit the heinous act.
DAILY POST has confirmed that the skull and other body parts of the deceased priest were mutilated in the attack.
However, the details surrounding the motive behind this tragic crime remain unclear at this time.
The suspect has been arrested and handed over to the Police at the Otu-Jeremi Division.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of Nigeria.
