According to a report by Daily Post, The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the verdict of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the Ondo State governorship primary election, describing it as "fraudulent" and "unacceptable".

The party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, expressed the party's dissatisfaction with INEC's decision to recognize Rotimi Akeredolu as the winner of the primary election.

According to Morka, the APC has evidence of widespread irregularities and manipulation of the electoral process, which he claims were perpetrated by INEC officials in collusion with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He alleged that the commission's verdict was a result of "collusion" between INEC and the PDP, aimed at "disenfranchising" APC members in Ondo State.

"This is a clear case of INEC's complicity in the PDP's scheme to rig the Ondo State governorship election," Morka said.

"We will explore all legal options to challenge this travesty and ensure that the will of the people is not subverted."

The APC's rejection of INEC's verdict has raised concerns about the possibility of a disputed governorship election in Ondo State, with many fearing a repeat of the violence that marred the 2020 election in the state.

Political analysts have warned that the development could lead to a crisis of confidence in the electoral process and undermine the credibility of the 2023 general elections.

The party has vowed to take all necessary steps to ensure that the true winner of the primary election is recognized, and has called on its supporters to remain calm but vigilant in the face of what it describes as "electoral fraud".
