The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) criticized the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) for holding a strategy meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that elections can only be won on Plateau soil.
The APC meeting in Lafia was described as a gathering of failed politicians by the PDP.
As per report from Leadership News, PDP questions why the opposition suddenly favors Lafia over Abuja., speculating whether they have fallen out of favor with the President or if their support base is shrinking.
The PDP highlighted the negative impact of the APC's governance from 2015-2023 on the people of Plateau, leading to their defeat in the 2023 elections.
The PDP suggested that the APC leaders should apologize to the people of Plateau for the years of stagnation and retrogression.
