Huge Blow To Ex Governor Okoth Obado As ODPP Makes This Declaration

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution has finally cleared air following the allegations that the case against ex Migori county governor hon Okoth Obado has been dropped.The ODPP in a statement confirmed that the corruption case against Obado is still active in court and the allegations that earlier on trended were null and void.

They dismissed the reports claiming that it had entered into a plea-bargain agreement Obado and other fifteen co-accused resulting into the withdrawal of the charges.

"The ODPP has noted reports alleging it entered into plea-bargain agreement with the accused persons and after settlement, withdrew the charges against the accused persons.Do note that the cases that have been withdrawn are the asset recovery civil cases filed by EACC",stated the ODPP in a statement.

The report indicated that the cases that were withdrawn are pertained to asset recovery civil cases initiated by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC).The office further clarified that the criminal charges against Obado remain active and are scheduled for further hearing on 8th and 9th of this month.
