In a recent gathering, Senate President Godswill Akpabio called on Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing the importance of divine guidance and support for the nation's leadership.

Akpabio made these remarks during a high-profile event, where he also commended President Tinubu for his astute selection of Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to channelTV.

Praising Wike's appointment, Akpabio stated, “So, I believe that you are a square peg in a square hole and I must thank the President for having the eyes to pinpoint those who can perform and bringing them.” He expressed confidence in Wike's ability to manage the FCT effectively, citing his previous accomplishments and reputation for excellence.

Akpabio highlighted the strategic significance of Wike’s new role, describing it as pivotal for addressing critical urban challenges. “This project will serve as a hub that will help traffic decongestion and tackle insecurity, among others,” Akpabio noted. His comments underscored the urgent need for innovative solutions to the FCT’s perennial issues, positioning Wike’s leadership as a promising step toward lasting improvements.

Drawing a parallel to President Tinubu’s tenure as the governor of Lagos State, Akpabio remarked, “He did it in Lagos and today, Lagos is one of the best; one of the largest economies in Africa when we are talking about cities.” This comparison was intended to bolster confidence in the administration’s capability to replicate similar successes on a national scale.

Akpabio's call for prayers reflects a broader sentiment among Nigerian leaders who believe that spiritual support is essential for the country's progress. As Tinubu’s administration continues to take shape, such endorsements and calls for unity are likely to play a crucial role in rallying public support and fostering a collaborative spirit among the citizenry.
