Abuja Horror: Hoodlums Terrorize Community Over Food Fight
Tension and terror gripped Byhazin, a suburb in Kubwa, in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as hoodlums launched a violent assault on residents following an altercation sparked by scavengers attempting to steal a pot of food. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and fear as the situation quickly escalated into a frenzied attack.
"We were just enjoying our evening when we saw these scavengers trying to steal our food. Suddenly, a group of hoodlums appeared and started attacking everyone," recounted a resident who wished to remain anonymous for safety reasons.
Armed with machetes and clubs, the hoodlums unleashed a brutal assault on the unsuspecting residents, leaving many injured and traumatized. "They threatened to return and cause more harm if we resisted," revealed another resident, still trembling from the ordeal.
According to Sahara reporters, Calls for help echoed throughout the community as residents appealed to the police and relevant authorities for assistance. "We can no longer sleep peacefully. We need urgent intervention to ensure our safety," pleaded one resident, reflecting the widespread fear and desperation gripping the neighborhood.
However, efforts to reach the authorities, including the FCT Police Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, proved futile as she was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As the community reels from the aftermath of the violent attack, residents are left traumatized and vulnerable, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced security measures to prevent further incidents.
In the face of such adversity, the resilience and solidarity of the community are being tested, as residents unite in their determination to rebuild and fortify their neighborhood against future threats.
