Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, announced on Wednesday the suspension of his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Mr. Emmanuel Adebisi. This decision was communicated through a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The announcement did not provide a specific reason for Adebisi’s suspension. It was stated, however, that he would remain suspended while an investigation was conducted by the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Kazeem Akinleye.

In response to circulating allegations, Adebisi took to Facebook earlier on Wednesday to deny accusations that he had misappropriated 70 bags of rice intended for civil society groups in Osun State during the recent Sallah festivities. He also refuted claims about his suspension.

Adebisi clarified: “Reports suggesting that I, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, have been suspended from my role as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke, or removed from any official WhatsApp groups, are false.”

He emphasized his ongoing commitment to his duties, stating: “I remain dedicated to my role and responsibilities as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State. Any allegations of misconduct, specifically the diversion of rice meant for Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, are completely unfounded and fabricated by political adversaries. I challenge anyone with evidence to present it.”

Adebisi further asserted his position within the state government, assuring: “I continue to be a vital part of the Osun Government team, upholding the highest standards of integrity and service. We encourage the media and the public to dismiss these unfounded claims and avoid spreading misinformation that could damage the reputation of committed public officials.”

In essence, Adebisi remains firm in his role, rejecting the accusations against him as baseless and politically motivated.
