According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria. On Monday, the Lagos Federal High Court heard testimony on the N1.2 billion cash payment made by former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Dasuki allegedly gave Fayose the cash payment in order to hide the source and remove any evidence, according to Abubakar Madaki, a former EFCC investigation officer.

Madaki informed Judge Chukwujekwu Aneke that the EFCC's investigation had shown this.

Contrary to allegations that the money was a presidential campaign finance, Madaki claimed the EFCC found that the fund was from Dasuki's office and was earmarked for the purchase of weapons.

Fayose and his business, Spotless Investment Limited, were brought before the judge by the EFCC on an 11-count criminal complaint of theft, criminal breach of trust, and misappropriation of public funds.

The anti-graft agency claimed that on June 17, 2014, Fayose and one Abiodun Agbele, who is also on trial for suspected money laundering offenses before a different court division took possession of N1.219 billion in order to finance his 2014 campaign for governor of Ekiti State.
