A Nigerian man has offered a $2000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of a man who allegedly defrauded him and his friends of over N42 million (approximately $30,000 USD).

Addressing the public on X.com, he said, “Hi everyone, this person defrauded my friends and I.

“We will be offering $2,000 (USD) to anyone who has info on him or knows of his whereabouts.”

According to the victim, the suspect, who moved into the victim’s apartment, spun a web of lies, claiming to need financial assistance for various reasons, including a dying nephew and financial problems with the Federal Inland Revenue Services

Aregbesola remains APC member, group replies ex-commissioner

Omoluabi Progressives, a group enjoying the backing of ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola in Osun State, on Friday said the ex-Osun helmsman would not be declared inconsequential in the party.

The group was reacting to the claim by the immediate past Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Adebayo Adeleke, who said Aregbesola had ceased to be in the party.

Adeleke served as a commissioner in the cabinet of ex-governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who is currently serving as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

2024 UTME: AbdulRazaq celebrates Kwara students who scored above 300

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has celebrated the 31 students of the state who performed impressively well in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

In a statement on Saturday by the chief press secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye said the governor was glad to receive reports of students from across public and private schools in the state posting impressive results in the recently held UTME.

“Particularly heartwarming is the result of Master Samuel Olanrewaju Oluwasemilore of Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, who scored 358 in the exam.

Osun obeys court, shifts monarch’s presentation of Staff of Office

The Osun State Government has obeyed the order of the state High Court, which restrained the governor, Ademola Adeleke, from presenting Staff of Office to the new Aree of Iree, Oba Muritala Oyelakin.

The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, in a statement obtained in Osogbo, however, clarified that Oba Oyelakin had been appointed and installed.

Alimi further said the state government has postponed until further notice the formal presentation of Staff of Office and instrument of appointment to Oba Oyelakin in obedience to the order of the court.

Alimi recalled that the state Executive Council presided over by Adeleke approved the appointment of the monarch on March 6, 2024, and the presentation of Staff of Office to him had been slated for today (Saturday).
